The Alcohol Epidemiology Symposium is the annual research meeting of the Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol. The KBS is an international organization of scientists engaged in research on the social aspects of alcohol use and alcohol problems.

The annual symposium invites researchers to submit and present papers on studies of determinants of drinking, drinking practices, attitudes, and drinking problems in general as well as in clinical populations, and the social and institutional responses to drinking-related problems. Participants from the whole range of social and health sciences are expected.

The 32nd KBS symposium is organized by IVO-Netherlands, a joint venture of 4 Dutch academic and research institutes, in Rotterdam, Tilburg, Nijmegen and Maastricht. The department of Medical Sociology (within Health Care Sciences, faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences) of the University of Maastricht are the local organizers.

The Stichting Volksbond is main sponsor of the 32nd KBS meeting and the IVO-award, the winner of which will be announced during this symposium.

Call for Abstracts and Papers

Registration and submission of abstract by February 15. Papers are accepted for submission until May 1, 2006. Participants will receive confirmation of acceptance of their abstract. All participants are considered potential discussants of papers and chairs of sessions during the symposium.

Registration

The registration fee includes admission to the conference, open sessions and poster presentations, all materials and coffee breaks. Social program and conference dinner are not included. A limited number of scholarships are offered.
Only after registration, paper presentation at the conference is possible.
